Who we are
dotted space GmbH was founded in Zürich in September 2026 and is recognised as a start-up company of ETH Zurich. We are supported by UPortunity, the ETH start-up accelerator, and by the ETH Student Project House, where much of the early work was done.
What we believe
We build things we believe in.
Most of what gets made now is designed to take something from the person using it — their attention, their patience, whatever data can be gathered along the way. Technical skill is not neutral; it goes wherever it is pointed.
We would rather point ours the other way: at small, working tools that hand something back. One finds you a fair second-hand price instead of a new one. One catalogues a bookshop's shelves so any title can be found where it actually sits. One looks hard at what social media is really telling us.
It is slower work, and we think it is the only kind worth the skill.
What we are building
RE.NUEVO
Save a search for something second-hand — a phone, a laptop, a bike, an air conditioner — and a message finds you the moment a matching listing is posted. It watches the Swiss marketplaces without stopping, and an alert usually arrives within five minutes of the listing going up. For second-hand shops it works the other way round: one photo, and the item is written up, priced and posted on every Swiss marketplace.

Who gets shown which political content? RE.ELS runs controlled accounts and records everything each one is shown in short-video feeds. Between two accounts only one trait differs, so what changes in the feed is the recommender's choice. The youngest of the three, and the one still finding the shape of its own question.
reels.dotted.space →RE.ORDER
RE.ORDER builds a second-hand bookshop's inventory from photographs of its shelves. A shop photographs its own shelves and the system reads them back: every spine found, identified and placed. It answers the question a bookseller actually has, which is rarely whether a title is in stock and almost always which shelf it is on.
